Recall Alert: Nissan Frontier, Titan

2023 Nissan Frontier in green.Nissan has issued a recall for about 4,200 Frontier and Titan pickups from model year 2023 because their tires can tear and deflate suddenly, which could cause an accident.

The company tells federal safety officials that a machine that mounts tires in the factory had a part replaced incorrectly. The faulty machine may have scraped the inner beads of tires as it mounted them. That might leave weak spots in tire sidewalls, which could rupture.

The problem was discovered by a delivery driver transporting trucks to dealerships, but it’s possible that dealers sold some new trucks with affected tires before Nissan was aware of the issue.

Dealers will replace all four tires to fix it.

When the fix comes, it will be free. Recall repairs, by law, always come at the automaker’s expense.

Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. They try to reach every owner to ask them to bring the vehicle in for repair, but they rarely reach them all. Millions of vehicles on American roads need free recall repairs. Check the easy VIN tool at our recall center to find out if your car is one of them.
