Mercedes-Benz has issued a recall covering just four vehicles, but for a vital reason — a critical component that holds the engine in place can fail, causing a loss of vehicle control.
Recalled models include the 2024 GLC 300 and AMG GLC 43.
Mercedes tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that integral carrier welds that support the engine “might not meet current production specifications” due to a supplier problem. As a result, the controllability of the vehicle might be affected, which could increase the risk of a crash.”
The company is aware of no accidents or injuries related to the problem. A technician discovered it during the manufacturing process.
Dealers will replace the suspect parts to fix the issue.
