Mazda has issued a recall for 672 cars because a malfunctioning camera can leave several safety systems inoperable.
The recall affects some, but not all examples of the:
- 2024 Mazda3
- 2024 Mazda CX-30
- 2025 Mazda CX-50
Mazda tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that a malfunctioning forward camera can keep the automatic emergency braking system from activating and shut down a lane-keeping system that helps center the car in its lane. In addition a high-beam control system “will not automatically adjust headlights from high to low beam with approaching vehicles.”
Dealers will inspect the cameras and replace them if needed.
Many vehicles are recalled, sometimes more than once. Manufacturers try to reach every owner to warn them. However, some may fall through the system’s cracks and are left unknowingly driving recalled cars. Check our easy recall tool to determine if your car has any outstanding recalls.
