Recall Alert: Lincoln Aviator

2021 Lincoln Aviator PHEVLincoln is recalling about 40,000 2020-2021 Aviator SUVs equipped with 3.0-liter V6 engines. The vehicles face a slight risk of fire, thanks to a minor defect.

The factory may not have properly secured a battery cable wiring harness. The wiring harness can rub against the air conditioner’s compressor pulley. That could erode the wires’ insulation and cause a short circuit, leading to a fire.

The company is aware of no fires or injuries related to the defect.

Dealers will replace any worn wires and add a strap that secures the harness in a safe place. Lincoln will begin notifying owners on July 30.
