Jaguar has ordered the recall of about 3,100 XE sedans from model year 2019 because their rearview cameras may not display an image.
The company tells federal safety regulators that “wiring damage in the trunk” can cause the image to “become intermittent or permanently fail.”
Jaguar is not aware of any injuries or accidents caused by the issue.
Dealers will inspect the camera’s function and the camera wiring harness in the trunk. If they find no damage, they will install new clips to hold the harness in place to prevent damage. If they find damage, they’ll repair the harness and install the routing clips.
Recall repairs are always free. Manufacturers attempt to contact every owner, but they don’t always reach them all with the news. Find out if your car has ever been recalled at our recall center.
