Recall Alert: Ford Transit Connect

The 2019 Ford Transit Connect

Ford has recalled 1,315 Transit Connect vans from model years 2017 through 2019 because their panoramic roofs can detach. That, Ford warns, can “result in wind noise, water leak, and in some cases, separation from the vehicle.”

Ford tells federal safety officials that contamination at the factory may have prevented adhesive from fully sealing the panels in place. The company says it knows of no accidents or injuries related to the problem but has received at least 14 reports of panel separation.

Dealers will remove the glass, clean it, and reinstall it with new adhesive to fix the problem. Recall repairs are always free.

Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. While automakers try to reach every owner to ask them to bring the vehicle in for repair, they rarely reach them all. Millions of vehicles on American roads need free recall repairs. Check the easy VIN tool at our recall center to find out if your car is one of them.
