Ford has issued a recall alert for about 1,000 2021 Bronco Sport SUVs that may have a moonroof problem. The company believes that only 233 of the crossovers may have defective moonroofs, but it must inspect every Bronco Sport built during a two-day period in April to find them.
A primer for the adhesive used to attach the moonroofs may not have been given enough time to cure properly at the factory. That could leave some of the moonroofs improperly attached. Through vibration and the normal shocks of driving, they could come loose, leak, or even detach in an accident.
Dealers will inspect the Bronco Sports, and, if necessary, attach a new moonroof with a proper bond.
