Recall Alert: Diesel Versions of Jeep Gladiator, Wrangler; Ram 1500

A diesel-powered 2021 Ram 1500 in whiteStellantis, parent company of Jeep and Ram, has issued a recall for more than 60,000 trucks and SUVs powered by 3.0-liter diesel engines. They have high-pressure fuel pumps that can fail prematurely, leading to engine failure.

Not every vehicle that fits that description is included in the recall. Only those produced on certain dates are at risk. But it can be difficult to determine the exact build date of your vehicle. The company will contact affected owners through the mail, or you can check our recall center to see if your vehicle is affected.

If the problem does develop, Stellantis says, owners may notice a malfunction indicator lamp on the dashboard or hear excessive engine noise.

Dealers will inspect the fuel system and, if necessary, replace the pump and any other fuel system components that seem suspect. The repair, as with all recalls, is free.
