General Motors has issued a recall for nearly 700,000 SUVs because their windshield wipers could fail. The recall affects 2014 and 2015 Chevy Equinox and GMC Terrain SUVs.
In documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, GM explains, “The ball joints in the windshield wiper module may corrode, causing one or both windshield wipers to fail.” Non-functional wipers could make it dangerously hard to see during heavy rain.
Dealers will inspect the joints and replace any worn parts to correct the problem.
These same Terrain models recently faced a recall over headlights that are too bright. Dealers can typically perform more than one recall repair in a single day, so many owners should be able to have both problems corrected at once.
