Recall Alert: Audi Q7, Q8 Due to Fuel Pumps

The 2021 Audi Q7 in white Audi  has issued a recall for about 50,000 SUVs because their fuel pumps can fail, leaving the cars inoperative.

The recall affects 2019-2021 Audi Q8 and 2020-2021 Audi Q7 SUVs equipped with 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 engines produced on certain dates. The engines use a fuel pump that can fail due to pressure fluctuations. Audi changed the fuel pump design mid-production, meaning that not every Q7 or Q8 is affected.

Owners might notice “rough engine running” or an emission control system light on the dashboard as the problem develops, Audi says. Left unaddressed, it can cause the engine to stall while driving or fail to start.

Dealers will correct the issue by installing a replacement fuel pump of a new design. Owners who have already paid to replace their fuel pump may be eligible for reimbursement.

As in every recall, the repair is free.
