The new 2025 Ram 1500 pickup hasn’t been on the road long. But Ram has already sold enough of them to launch a recall affecting 33,777 trucks.
The company tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that that number of trucks may have been built with damaged front wheel bearing encoder rings. That can cause the trucks’ electronic stability control (ESC) to lose a critical wheel speed signal and shut itself down in response.
ESC is a required safety feature that modulates engine speed and brakes to help prevent a skid or recover from one. Without it, drivers might find their truck handling differently than they’re used to. When the wheels start to slip, that’s a dangerous problem.

Dealers will inspect the trucks’ front wheel bearing hub assemblies and replace them if necessary.
