Recall Alert: 2022 VW Tiguan

2022 Volkswagen TiguanVolkswagen is recalling about 1,300 2022 Tiguan SUVs. The vehicles may have a loose brake line fitting that could cause a sudden loss of braking power.

VW believes the defect affects less than 1.5% of 2022 Tiguans. A loose fitting, the automaker explains, could cause brake fluid to leak. Only the right front brake is affected. The remaining three brakes would still be able to stop a car even if all the fluid drained. But the car would require a longer braking distance than the driver was accustomed to, which could contribute to an accident.

A simple adjustment fixes it – dealers will tighten the affected fitting and top off brake fluid if any has leaked. Recall repairs are always free.

Manufacturers attempt to contact every owner, but they don’t always reach them all with the news. Find out if your car has ever been recalled at our recall center.
