Audi is recalling about 3,000 2022 A3 and S3 sedans because their seatbelts may not work properly in an accident.
In documents filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Audi explains, “the retention force of the seat belt tensioner on the driver and front passenger seats may be inadequate to properly restrain the occupants during a crash.”
Audi is aware of no injuries related to the problem. It was discovered during crash testing of cars meant for the South Korean market.
Dealers will correct the problem by replacing both front seat belt assemblies. Recall repairs are always free.
