Recall Alert: 2022-2023 Range Rover

The 2023 Range Rover Carmel Edition in profileLand Rover has issued a recall covering 500 Range Rover SUVs from model years 2022 and 2023 because their second-row seat frames may not be properly welded.

First, to clear up some possible confusion, there are two entirely different vehicles called the 2022 Range Rover. Land Rover redesigned its flagship SUV late in the 2022 model year. It sold the last models of the previous design and the earliest models of the new design under the name “2022 Range Rover.” This recall applies to the latter.

In documents filed with federal safety regulators, Land Rover warns that one latch in the larger portion of the 60/40-split second-row seat may not have been welded correctly to the frame. In the event of an accident or sudden braking “where the second row 60% seat center position is occupied and the outboard seat occupant is not using the body mounted seat belt (such as where a child seat is installed using LATCH/ISOFIX), the seat will move forward and upwards,” the company says.

That could contribute to injuries.

Dealers will inspect the seat and replace the entire seat frame on that side if they find a defective weld.

Recall repairs are always free. Manufacturers attempt to contact every owner, but they don’t always reach them all with the news. Find out if your car has ever been recalled at our recall center.
