Ram is revising much of its lineup for 2025. The company revealed a thoroughly refreshed version of its best-selling Ram 1500 full-size truck for the 2025 model year. Now, it’s preparing an update for its larger Ram Heavy Duty trucks.
The company is keeping mechanical details secret for now, but it released photographs Tuesday.
Two unstoppable trends dominate truck design in the 2025 model year: massive grilles and tiny headlights. Ram dives grille-first into both with its largest trucks.
Photos show a larger grille cut by thin horizontal LED daytime running lights. Each trim level seems positioned to get its own separate grille, as the images show at least three grille types.
The most interesting is on the off-road-oriented Rebel. Blacked out, it features vertical slats with two small sections of horizontal slats that look as if they’ll rotate into place when the truck transforms into a robot.
In the rear, C-shaped taillights bracket a simple tailgate that doesn’t appear to offer any new functions.
Automakers often tease new cars a few weeks before unveiling them in full detail. We may face a longer wait than normal for the 2025 Ram HD. The company says it revealed photos now because “engineering teams are conducting final testing on one of the most important performance attributes of our heavy haulers: cooling. As the trucks will be running loose in the wild, with the camouflage removed, we wanted to share some quality exterior images with you” now rather than letting enthusiasts post “a badly lit snapshot out the window at 70 mph” on social media.
