If you love big trucks and the moon, buckle in. Ram is taking you where you want to go.
The truckmaker has introduced a pair of special-edition heavy-duty trucks inspired by Earth’s only satellite. The Ram Heavy Duty Power Wagon and Rebel HD are each getting a Lunar Edition for 2024.
Ram’s long list of trim levels can be confusing. So, a quick reminder: the Power Wagon is an off-road specialist trim with a heritage dating back to 1945. Off-road tech like disconnecting sway bars and an electronic locking front differential make it one of the more capable heavy-duty trail trucks.
The Rebel HD is a slightly less capable off-road model with an air-adjusting suspension and the option of a diesel powerplant. It’s available with a 410-horsepower 6.4-liter Hemi V8 or a 370-hp Cummins turbodiesel inline-6-cylinder engine. Opting for the diesel adds nearly $10,000 to its price.
Both now come in moon buggy versions. Dodge paints Lunar Editions in an exclusive color it calls Ceramic Gray, with powder-coated bumpers and fender flares. They ride on 33-inch all-terrain tires (including regolith? Maybe). Power Wagon pickups mount them to 17-inch black wheels. Rebel HD trucks use 20-inch versions. Power Wagon models also get a Warn winch.
The Rebel HD Lunar Edition comes exclusively with the diesel powerplant.
The Ram Power Wagon Lunar Edition carries a sticker price of $75,205 (including a 1,995 destination fee). The Rebel HD Lunar Edition lists at $85,490 delivered.
Inside, they’re upholstered in black leather with Surf Blue stitching for contrast. Each also gets a wireless charging pad — something not available in previous Ram HD models. We’d be shocked if Ram doesn’t bring it to the whole lineup soon, as wireless charging pads are now the most requested new car feature.
