Porsche will have a new option for those buyers in the 2024 model year. The 718 Boxster and Cayman will each come in a new “Style Edition” packed with color-coordinated interior and exterior flare. Porsche hasn’t revealed pricing for the package. For that matter, it hasn’t revealed pricing for its 2024 lineup.
So we’re left noting that the Cayman currently starts at $63,400, the drop-top Boxer at $65,500, and the Style Edition will doubtless get a price bump from there. Delivery adds $1,450 today but may be higher by the time these get here.
All Porsche buyers want some balance of sublime performance and dazzling style. But they each have their own idea of what that balance should be.
For some, the standard mechanical setup is enough. But the style needs emphasis.
There’s nothing mechanically unique about the Style Editions – at least, nothing Porsche doesn’t already offer on the base models of these cars. They feature the standard 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine making 300 horsepower, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT).
There are visual upgrades galore, including gloss-black 20-inch wheels, Porsche script low on the doors, and gloss-black tailpipes. An optional stripe package paints black strips down the hood and low on the side sills. A contrast package replaces most of that gloss-black with white, including on the wheels (but not the tailpipes).
It looks fantastic in the Ruby Star Neo pink Porsche used on the Boxster in press photos.
The Style Package adds a heated leather steering wheel, Chalk-stitched floor mats, embossed Porsche crests on the headrests, and illuminated side sills.
