Porsche has asked owners of 1,851 718 and 911 sports cars from model year 2024 to park their cars and contact their local dealership. The company needs to repair the center lock wheel fastening system on the cars.
“Center lock fracture could potentially result in loss of a wheel or degradation in steering control,” Porshce explains. The company tells federal safety officials it knows of “several incidents.”
Porsche is still investigating the cause of the problem but believes it already has a solution. Dealers will inspect the center lock wheel fastening system and replace any out-of-specification parts.
Recall repairs are always free.
