Nissan has issued a recall for 215,124 vehicles in the U.S. and another 19,761 in Canada over an ABS brake issue that could leak brake fluid and possibly cause a fire. The affected vehicles are 2015-17 Nissan Murano, 2016-17 Nissan Maximas, 2017-18 Nissan Pathfinders and 2017 Infiniti QX60 models.

According to NTHSA, the ABS actuator pump seal may leak brake fluid on a circuit board causing a malfunction and the ABS warning lamp to light on the instrument panel. If the condition is ignored, the leak could cause a short and possibly cause a fire.

There are no known causes of injuries or accidents as a result of the problem and dealers will inspect and replace for free actuator pumps that fall into specific identification number ranges. You can visit NHTSA’s website here to enter your vehicle’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to determine if it’s subject to this or other recalls.
