New Maybach Vision Concept Debut Set

Daimler Chief Design Officer Gorden Wagener announced a new Vision Maybach Concept will have its world debut later this month at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Although we’re still waiting to hear the official name of this dream machine, the video carried a “Maybach 6” tag, leading us to believe it will be a convertible version of the earlier Vision Maybach 6 Concept, a supersized, electric-powered and tech-rich coupe that was unveiled at last year’s Pebble Beach event.

If this new Vision Maybach 6 is a drop-top variation on the theme, it will likely share many of the key exterior styling cues seen on the coupe as well as the same quartet of individual wheel motors that collectively crank out 738 horsepower. From what can be gleaned from the video, the cabin also retains a fair amount of the original Vision Maybach 6 Concept’s design cues–although this looks to be a pure 2-seater rather than a 2+2 configuration.
