Mercedes Will Reportedly Hold Prices Steady Amid Tariffs

Mercedes-Benz will not hike prices to account for new tariffs on cars and car parts, according to a new report.

Industry publication Automotive News reports, “Mercedes-Benz on April 7 said it will not increase sticker prices on 2025 models, despite the Trump administration now charging a 25% tariff on vehicle imports to the U.S.”

The report does not explain how long Mercedes will be able to hold prices at current levels. Hyundai is, so far, the only automaker to set a specific date. Hyundai and its Genesis luxury arm have pledged not to raise prices before June 2.

Toyota and Honda will also attempt to hold prices steady, but have not set a date, according to Japanese media reports.

Rival BMW has made a lesser pledge. Road and Track reports that the company is “committing to absorb tariff costs on Mexican-built vehicles such as the 3 Series, 2 Series coupe, and M2 models.”
