Mercedes To Install EV Chargers at Some Starbucks Stores

More than a year ago, Mercedes-Benz announced plans to build its own nationwide electric vehicle (EV) charging network to rival the Tesla Supercharger system. Now the company has a partner in the effort – one with a lot of real estate to work with.

Mercedes and Starbucks have announced a plan to build EV chargers at more than 100 Starbucks stores. They’ll start with “Starbucks stores along Interstate 5, a critical west coast travel corridor.”

Once that’s done, they aim to place chargers in “core urban areas and charging deserts.”

Mercedes has also partnered with six other automakers to build another network. This effort is not part of that plan.
