Lexus Offering $15,000 Lease Discount on RZ Electric Vehicle

The 2023 Lexus RZ seen from a front quarter angle

The 2023 Lexus RZ is the company’s first electric vehicle in the U.S. As electric vehicles go, it’s not particularly impressive. Our expert test driver cited “so-so range” and “so-so charging speeds” but called it “exceptionally and effortlessly quick” and said it provides the cocoon of luxury Lexus buyers expect.

Our inventory numbers show that dealers aren’t particularly overstocked with the model. But Lexus is introducing the kind of discount offer that makes you think they are. Through November 30, the 2023 Lexus RZ 450e is eligible for $15,000 in lease cash.

The offer is only available in Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Virginia, Vermont, and West Virginia. The small print includes the usual luxury automaker caveat that only “well-qualified buyers” need apply, but the offer includes both trim levels.

In some parts of the country, the offer pushes the monthly lease payment on an RZ as low as the payment on a 2024 Lexus RX, effectively bringing price parity to an electric vehicle for some shoppers.

Sadly, you can’t stack the federal government’s $7,500 federal EV tax credit onto the offer. The IRS does allow the credit on leased vehicles no matter where they’re built. But Lexus tells InsideEVs Uncle Sam’s discount is already included in the $15,000 lease cash.
