The 2025 Lexus RC Coupe and its high-performance RC F edition deserve more love. Sporty luxury coupes are a small segment of the automotive market these days. But the RC is an excellent example of the form, bringing bulletproof Lexus build quality to one of the most enjoyable types of car to own.
It’s nearly over, though. Lexus will build its final RC Coupe at the end of the 2025 model year. The company will say goodbye with an exclusive Final Edition, but at an eye-popping price.
About the RC
The RC is a compact luxury coupe with near-sports-car looks and performance that would beat most cars on a track but too much comfort to hang with genuine sports cars. It’s a car you buy to enjoy your daily commute in comfort and have the option of taking a winding road with more enthusiasm than you might in a family sedan.
Buyers get a choice of three engines ranging from 241 horsepower to 472, and rear-wheel or all-wheel drive (RWD or AWD), letting you pay for the performance you want. Unlike a pure sports car, however, it’s not solely about performance. An outstanding available sound system and hyper-comfortable seats are part of the deal, too.
It competes with cars like the Mercedes-Benz CLE and the BMW 4 Series, trying to best them on reliability and resale value.
For its last year, Lexus will change little about the standard RC. “For 2025, the available orange brake calipers on F SPORT RWD models have changed to red,” Lexus explains.
But the high-performance RC F will come as a new Final Edition.
It gets a bespoke black-and-red, leather-and-Ultrasuede interior, an active rear wing, a roof, side rocker panels, a front spoiler, and a rear diffuser all woven from carbon fiber. BBS alloy wheels, the previously mentioned red brake calipers, and black folding mirrors are also new.
The upgrades will cost you, however. The Final Edition starts at $94,000 delivered.
