If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find it, maybe you can buy…the A-Team’s van.
One of just six built for the hit tv show that ran through the heart of the Reagan years, this “GMC” van being offered for sale by Worldwide Auctioneers with no reserve price. It’s actually a 1979 Chevrolet G20 van wearing GMC badging. Powered by a 5.7-liter V8 making 155 horsepower, this particular model was never actually used on television. Instead, it drove around the country appearing at car shows and other promotional events. Which makes this arguably just a 1979 Chevy Van with more than 90,000 miles on the odometer.
But it carries features not found on most G-Series vans of the era – such as a custom bash bar, that iconic black, gray, and orange paint job, a roof-mounted CB radio, and gun mounts. Gun mounts everywhere.
We assume the prop guns pictured in the publicity shots don’t come with the car. But the mounts themselves would make fantastic places to hang backpacks, so you could drift into the elementary school parking lot in a riot of tire squeal, throw open the sliding door, and watch your second- and fourth-graders spill out like a crack assault team, lunch boxes at the ready, wondering why you insist on being called “Face” whenever you’re in the new car.
Ah, we love it when a van comes togeth…ok, too much? Yeah. We apologize.
Bidding starts January 23.
