Land Rover Recalls 28,000 SUVs Over Backup Cameras

2022 Land Rover Discovery Sport in silver.

JLR, the company formerly known as Jaguar Land Rover, has recalled 28,370 SUVs because their screens can go blank at startup, leaving drivers without a backup camera image.

Recalled models include the following:

The company tells federal safety officials that “a mismatch in clock timing in the screen’s software” can leave the screen blank on startup, preventing the camera from displaying an image.

Dealers will update the software to fix the problem. Because these vehicles don’t receive software updates over the air, owners must bring them in to have the patch installed. Software updates are among the quickest service appointments.

Carmakers try to notify the owners of recalled vehicles, but those efforts aren’t always 100% effective. To check if your car is part of a recall, try our easy VIN check tool in our recall center.
