Kia has issued an urgent recall for about 3,900 Forte sedans from model year 2023 and asked drivers not to drive the cars until dealers have the chance to make a safety repair.
Kia tells federal car safety officials that a joint in the car’s right front lower control arm may not be properly welded. It can break under use, causing a partial loss of steering control.
Owners will be notified by mail and asked to make arrangements with a dealership to have the car towed in for repair. Recall repairs and needed towing are always free.
Dealers will replace the right front lower control arm to fix the problem.
Manufacturers recall many vehicles at least once. They attempt to contact every owner but don’t always reach them all with the news. Find out if your car needs any recall-related repairs at our recall center.
