Instagram Pics Show Buffed-up 2026 Honda Passport

Honda will bring out an all-new version of its venerable Passport 2-row midsize SUV for the 2026 model year, and the makeover appears dramatic.

No one in the press has driven the 2026 Passport yet. But Honda entered a prototype version during this year’s Rebelle Rally. That event sees teams of women drivers race across more than 1,500 miles of Nevada and California desert, navigating without GPS. Our own Lyn Woodward is a multi-time Rebelle veteran.

This year, Honda drivers Adia Raya and Madison Russell are testing the 2026 Passport in the rally. Photos posted to their Team 208 Instagram page give us our best look yet at the planned remodel.

Genuine Off-Road Gear, Not Just a Cosmetic Update

They’re driving the off-road-oriented TrailSport edition. So, the photos likely show the future Passport in its most rugged guise. It looks stunningly rugged for a vehicle once renowned for its family-friendly nature.

Honda has already said the 2026 Passport will feature a “more powerful DOHC 3.5-liter V6 engine, high-strength 10-speed automatic transmission and best-in-class torque vectoring i-VTM4 all-wheel-drive system” as standard equipment. It almost certainly shares a platform with Honda’s more recently redesigned Pilot 3-row SUV, which grew significantly more capable with its last update.

The photos show scratch-resistant fender cladding, actual skid plates, recovery hooks, and a beefy roof rack.

The all-terrain tires shown in the photos may be an after-market modification. That’s not unusual for rally racers. A tight rear bumper allows for an aggressive departure angle – the kind of design element we’d never have expected to see on previous editions of the Passport.

Ruggedness is a fashion trend in recent SUV designs, but in the next Passport, it may be functional as much as fashionable. We’ll bring more information soon. Honda has started teasing out bits of info to the press, so we expect a full reveal of the next Passport soon.
