While complete tech specs won’t be released until its official reveal at the Detroit Auto Show, we now have our first full look at the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge Concept. Inspired by the Infiniti-sponsored and World Championship-winning Red Bull RB9 Formula One race car and penned by a team led by the automaker’s Executive Design Director, Alfonso Albaisa, the Eau Rouge Concept reportedly offers a view of what we might expect to see in a future high-performance Q50 production model.

Although not readily apparent at first glance, Albaisa notes that literally every body panel on the Eau Rouge Concept except for the doors has undergone some sort of functional revamping to save weight and/or improve aero. Lower and wider than a standard Infiniti Q50 Sedan, this striking one-off is fitted with numerous carbon fiber components including its unique front splitter, side sills and rear diffuser as well as the roof panel and side-mirror housings. Rounding out the package are a set of 21-inch lightweight forged alloy wheels, a sport exhaust system and a large integrated rear spoiler that provides additional high-speed downforce.
