Infiniti has become the latest manufacturer to roll a dream machine onto the Gran Turismo 6 virtual grid of Sony’s PlayStation 3 system. Based on a design penned at the automaker’s new design studio in Beijing using an underlying "Sensuality and Beast" theme, the Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo appears much more firmly based in reality than several earlier VTG exercises.

Long, wide and low, the boldly aggressive bodywork on the Infiniti Concept is aero optimized by teaming its front splitter and rear diffuser with a distinctively shaped rear spoiler and flow-channeling underbody fairings. Access to the full-race-spec cabin is done via scissor-style doors and the front-mid-engine/rear-transaxle design endows the car with a 45/55-percent weight split that will help it make the best use of the power developed by its naturally aspirated V8. Only time will tell whether we’ll see specific elements found on this "pure Infiniti GT car" turn up on the automaker’s future production models, but GT6 fans will be able to put the Infiniti Concept Vision Gran Turismo through its paces starting today.
