Ready to make its official debut at the Seoul Motor Show later this month, the Hyundai HND-9 Concept reportedly embodies a styling direction the Korean automaker is pondering for use on an upcoming luxury sport coupe model. Created at the Hyundai Motor Group’s R&D Center in Namyang, the HND-9 reflects the latest evolution of Hyundai’s "fluidic sculpture" design philosophy, matching sweeping lines and sensual contours with powerful front/rear fascia treatments that showcase aggressive lighting elements.

Recasting traditional long-nose/short-tail sport coupe proportions in a more contemporary manner, the HND-9 complements its relatively lengthy wheelbase with large, swing-up "butterfly" doors that afford easier access to its equally sophisticated 4-seat cabin. Power for this could-be Hyundai comes from a 370-horsepower/3.3-liter direct injected gasoline engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission.
