Honda has recalled 205,760 SUVs because they can suffer a fuel leak in an accident, potentially triggering a fire.
Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:
- 2023-2024 Honda Passport
- 2023-2025 Honda Pilot
Honda tells federal safety regulators that factory workers used “an out of sequence process” to connect the fuel neck tube and fuel filler pipe at the factory. That left the connection weaker than intended. The parts can separate in a crash.
Honda is not aware of any accidents or injuries connected to the problem. A technician discovered it during a pre-sale vehicle inspection at a dealership. The dealer alerted Honda, which then found it on cars awaiting shipment.
Dealers will inspect the connection and tighten it if necessary to fix the problem. Recall repairs are always free.
