Here’s What You Get on a Fully Loaded 2023 Kia Sportage
Kia’s compact SUV has been completely redesigned for 2023, mixing bold exterior styling and an upgraded passenger cabin with an impressive lineup of standard and available features. Available in a total of 10 trims and offered with optional hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrains, the entry-level Sportage LX starts at approximately $26,000.
Standard features include a 187-horsepower 4-cylinder engine, 8-speed automatic transmission, 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a long list of advanced safety tech.
The new, off-road-oriented X-Pro trim represents the pinnacle of this 5-passenger SUV when it comes to feature content and price. Outfitted in X-Pro Prestige AWD format, a Sportage customer gets standard all-wheel drive, a higher ride height, all-terrain tires, and black-painted 17-inch alloy wheels.
That’s in addition to every optional feature offered on lower trims, ranging from a 12.3-inch infotainment screen to blind-spot monitoring, heated and cooled front seats, and a panoramic sunroof.
With everything added, including the destination fee, a fully loaded Sportage can edge its way to just shy of $39,000
- Kia Sportage X-Pro Prestige AWD: $36,790
- Premium exterior paint: $395
- Auto-dimming mirror with Homelink: $350
- Destination fee: $1,255
Here are some of the best features included on the 2023 Kia Sportage X-Pro Prestige AWD.
All-Wheel Drive
One immediate benefit of scaling up to the X-Pro Prestige is that it comes standard with all-wheel drive. Not only does this provide added grip when paved roads are slippery, but the system used in the Sportage X-Pro also has multi-terrain drive modes for a variety of off-roading situations.
All-Terrain Hardware
You get more than a fancier AWD system in the X-Pro Prestige. In keeping with the trim’s go-anywhere vibe, it’s equipped with 17-inch black-painted alloy wheels, BFGoodrich all-terrain tires, a center-locking differential, and 8.3 inches of ground clearance (or roughly 1.5 inches more than the standard Sportage).
It’s not about to challenge a Ford Bronco or Jeep Wrangler for rock-crawling bragging rights, but these features give the Sportage X-Pro a more sure-footed foundation for moderate off-road adventuring.
Cabin Tech and Touchscreens
Even the outgoing Sportage was notable for offering a premium cabin at a very mainstream price point. This only gets better in the 2023 Sportage, particularly when you’re behind the wheel of the top-of-the-line X-Pro Prestige AWD.
Standard features include heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a power-operated liftgate, panoramic sunroof, and an 8-speaker Harmon Kardon audio system.
The dashboard is outfitted with two 12.3-inch screens mounted flush with one another. One serves as the digital gauge display while the other is the command center for the infotainment system. In addition to all-important smartphone connectivity, you get a wireless charging pad, navigation, and subscription-based Wi-Fi hot spot.
All Available Safety Features
For peace of mind, the Sportage X-Pro Prestige AWD comes with every safety item that can be added to this Kia SUV. To name only a few, this includes blind-spot monitoring and rear-cross traffic alert, a surround-view parking camera, and safe exit alert.
The last of these features monitors whether a vehicle or bicycle might be approaching when the Sportage is parked and before rear occupants open their door. If radar sensors detect something approaching from behind, the system sounds a chime and temporarily prevents the rear doors from being opened.
Highway Drive Assist
The Sportage X-Pro Prestige AWD comes standard with Kia’s Highway Drive Assist. Like many such semi-autonomous systems, Highway Drive Assist can be activated on select stretches of pre-mapped highways and at speeds up to 95 mph.
The system maintains its position in the lane of travel and adjusts the distance between itself and vehicles ahead. The driver can also program Highway Drive Assist to automatically adjust to changing speed limits.
