Ford will ask owners of 207 vehicles to bring their cars back in for a second service because an earlier recall may not have been completed correctly.
The recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:
- 2021-2022 Lincoln Corsair
- 2022 Ford Escape
- 2022-2024 Ford Maverick
The company recalled these vehicles last year because of a software issue that could cause them to lose power suddenly. Dealers corrected the problem with a software update. However, Ford has since learned that the tool that uploaded the software failed in some instances. So, a small number of vehicles never received the update.
The company needs to repeat the process for those.
Recall repairs are always free. Manufacturers attempt to contact every owner but don’t always reach everyone. Find out if your car needs any recall repairs at our recall center.
