Ford has recalled 933 Maverick hybrid compact pickups from model years 2022 and 2023 because their instrument clusters can go dark, leaving critical safety warnings unreadable. If you’ve already had this issue fixed in your Maverick, you may need to bring it back in for a second repair.
Ford recalled 63,000 Mavericks over this issue in 2024. However, the company has since discovered that a software tool used in that first round of repairs did not upload the correct software to some trucks. Ford has issued a spate of do-over recalls this month.
Dealers will correct the problem by uploading the right software fix this time, Ford says.
Recall repairs are always free.
Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. While automakers try to reach every owner to ask them to bring the vehicle in for repair, they rarely reach them all. Millions of vehicles on American roads need free recall repairs. Check the easy VIN tool at our recall center to find out if your car is one of them.
