Ford has issued a recall for 4,721 Escape SUVs from model year 2025 because their backup cameras may show an inverted image. Escape models equipped with 360-degree surround-view cameras are not included in this recall.
Ford tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that a supplier mistakenly provided some cameras with circuitry intended for one model and software for another. The two don’t work together properly.
Dealers will replace the cameras to fix the problem.
