Ford and its Lincoln luxury brand have recalled 4,163 vehicles because misaligned oil plugs in their engines can cause oil leaks.
Recalled models include some, but not all, examples of the:
- 2024 Lincoln Navigator
- 2024-2025 Ford Expedition
- 2024-2025 Ford F-150
Ford tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that the hydraulic press that inserts the plug at the factory was misaligned while producing some of the parts. An oil leak in an engine can lead to a fire.
The company knows of two warranty claims but no injuries or accidents related to the problem.
Dealers will inspect the plugs and install a replacement plug if needed.
