- Envisioned as entry level EV for the masses
- Modular design allows customization
- Battery options offer up to 310-mile range
- Celebrates Fiat’s 120th anniversary as a company
Fiat is marking the company’s 120th anniversary by showing an entry level electric vehicle concept called the Fiat Concept Centoventi. The small city car is envisioned as an EV alternative to its Panda minicar with a modular design that allows the buyer to configure the basic vehicle and then upfit it with options installed after purchase either at the dealership or at home.
The Centoventi is designed to be a blank canvas available with a choice of four roof, bumper and wheel cover designs along with four external color and graphic wraps. Options like battery upgrades, special instrument cluster, a digital display lift gate, custom polycarbonate roof and external wraps can be installed at the dealership, while other accessories, like audio systems, door storage compartment can be installed by the owner at home.
Compact dimensions
The Centoventi rides on a tidy 95.6-inch wheelbase and measures just 144.8 inches in overall length. It stands 68.5 inches wide and 60.1 inches tall. The small, boxy 4-door hatchback offers buyers the opportunity to spec one of five battery packages, with the base model offering a 62-mile range. Additional battery modules each offering an additional 62 miles of range can be ordered and installed giving the vehicle a range of up to 310 miles.

Taking ideas from Lego building blocks and refrigerator door designs, the Centoventi has a bare bones interior that allows buyers to decide whether they want additional storage bins, audio speakers and cup holders. The dash itself is simple with a single 10-inch display screen that allows the owner to use a smartphone to power the infotainment system. Or, if the buyer prefers a more traditional look or feel, the dash can be configured with an instrument cluster and infotainment system with a display surface totaling 20 square inches.
Fiat sees the Centoventi as an ideal vehicle for first time car buyers, fleets and car sharing services thanks to its low cost, high flexibility in specification and customization.
