A new special edition package has been added to the Fiat 124 Spider catalog. The 2019 Fiat 124 Spider Urbana Edition, which contains several appearance enhancements, is now available at dealerships as a $995 option.
For 2019, the 124 Spider is available in three trim levels: Classica (starting at $25,190); Lusso (starting at $27,795); and Abarth (starting at $29,290), however, the Urbana Edition package is available only on the Classica trim, bringing the starting price to $26,185.
Urbana Edition
The package comes with several exterior and interior enhancements to the Classica formula, including: fog lamps; dual bright exhaust tips; gloss black exterior accents on the mirror caps, A-pillar and roll bar covers; 17-inch aluminum wheels with painted black pockets; black interior accents with red accent stitching; leather and microfiber seats; and a year of SiriusXM satellite radio included.
Three new options are available for 2019: Veleno Appearance Group ($495); hand-painted Heritage Racing Stripe ($2,195); and Record Monza exhaust ($995).

124 Spider Has MX-5 Miata Ties
The 124 Spider is a front-engine/rear-wheel drive roadster with a manual soft top. It debuted as a 2017 model in the US.
Developed with Mazda, the 124 Spider is closely related to the Mazda MX-5 Miata, and is assembled in Hiroshima alongside its relative. The 124 uses a Fiat designed and engineered turbocharged 1.4-liter four-cylinder engine producing 160 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque and comes with a 6-speed manual or available 6-speed automatic transmission ($1,350 extra).
The Miata uses a Mazda Skyactiv-G naturally aspirated (non-turbo) 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that’s tuned to produce 181 hp and 151 lb-ft of torque. Though the 124 and Miata share a platform with a similar suspension layout (double-wishbone front/multi-link rear), the two vehicles are tuned differently, and the 124 outweighs the Miata by 100 to 200 pounds, depending on configuration. Pricing on the 2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata starts at $25,730.
