A bit more detail is emerging about the appearance of the next-gen supercar that will effectively replace the dearly departed and forever legendary Ferrari Enzo in the automaker’s lineup. A handful of facts and several photos of the carbon fiber monocoque to be used in this high-performance vehicle that are being developed under the F150 project name appeared in October. Recently, two modestly revealing images of the car’s exterior styling turned up in Ferrari’s in-house magazine.
Expected to make its public appearance at the 2013 Geneva Auto Show in March, the Ferrari F150 looks to embody cues from both the firm’s street and racing models. The Formula One influence can be seen in the styling of both its nose and tail, with the latter also featuring large round taillamps similar to those found on the Ferrari California and 458 production cars. The F150 also is expected to have a subtle "double-bubble" roof treatment to improve passenger headroom.
As reported previously, the mid-engine Ferrari F150 will be the automaker’s first hybrid offering, using the latest iteration of Ferrari’s F1-style HY-KERS (Hybrid-Kinetic Energy Recovery System) gasoline/electric technology that mates a version of the 6.3-liter V12 used in the F12 Berlinetta and FF models with a motor fed by a lithium-ion battery pack. It will reportedly create between 800-900 horsepower which will be sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch transaxle and give the car a top speed in excess of 250 mph.
