Every 2024 Ford Mustang Buyer Gets Track Lessons

Some cars have community.

For some, that means owners who acknowledge each other with a nod in the grocery store parking lot. For others, it means waves on the road and whistles of appreciation at the gas pump.

With a tiny few, though, it means membership in an actual owners’ group and privileges like racing lessons. Every Toyota GR Supra, for instance, comes with a free track day at a National Auto Sport Association (the other NASA) track.

The Ford Mustang has always elicited the nod and occasionally the whistle. In 2024, it will get something more.

“Owners of the all-new, seventh-generation Ford Mustang will be able to enjoy a range of new experiences in 2024, from on-track driving courses led by some of the world’s best high-performance driving instructors to new lifestyle events and an online portal to connect with Mustang owners from across the country,” the company announced late last week.

The move includes not just track monsters like the ultra-exclusive Mustang GTD and Mustang Dark Horse. Ford plans track events for those who buy even the 4-cylinder Mustang EcoBoost.

Dark Horse Buyers, Be Ready to Head to Charlotte

Buyers of the Dark Hose models will get a few custom experiences. They can start registering for the Mustang Dark Horse Track Attack at Charlotte Motor Speedway in January. There, they’ll get skid pad lessons, an autocross experience, and a chance to drive the NASCAR oval led by trained instructors.

But Ford will invite GT and EcoBoost buyers to their own “destination driving event” at Charlotte’s speedway.” There, “owners can select from drift instruction, track driving, line-lock burnout classes, and more.”

Travel and lodging are not included, Ford notes. But you know how you’re getting there.

For those who can’t make it to North Carolina, Ford says, it plans “a series of roving, cross-country events in 10 U.S. markets,” with details to come later.
