Always a prominent player at the annual Specialty Equipment Market Association show, Chevrolet has just released some images and illos of several concept vehicles it will present at next month’s SEMA gathering in Las Vegas. Highlighting the Bow Tie Brigade’s contingent are a pair of potent Sonics, both fitted with upgraded 1.4-liter turbo engines, modified suspensions and enhanced brakes. The Matte Black All-Activity Sonic developed for multi-talented driver/athlete Ricky Carmichael and the Lemon Peel Yellow Performance RS also feature a number of current or could-be future Chevy accessory items.

To curry favor with the green contingent, Chevy created the Spark EV Tech Performance. This high-profile one-off relies on a tweaked power deliver algorithm to further amp up its acceleration potential. While no changes were made to the 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine in the Personalization Cruze Diesel concept, a 3d Carbon ground effects package and killer Kicker Audio system definitely bolster its curb appeal. For mid-size fans, the Malibu LTZ SEMA concept matches bolder body bits and a set of 19-inch Chevy Accessory wheels with a Borla exhaust system and an experimental cold-air induction setup that adds more punch to its already potent 2.0-liter turbo-four engine. Rounding out the mix, the Urban Cool Impala LTZ sports understated custom paint and unique body parts – including concept 20-inch Chevrolet Accessory alloy wheels – plus a custom cabin trimmed in Sky Cool Gray leather set off with glossy piano black and anodized matte black accent trims.
