BMW X3 Recalled for Torn Airbags

The 2025 BMW X3 seen from a front quarter angle

BMW has recalled just 7 copies of its brand new 2025 X3 SUV for a frightening reason: their airbags may be torn and unable to function properly.

The company tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration that front passenger airbags may have been torn in transit between suppliers and installed before anyone caught the problem.

BMW discovered the issue at the factory. The company knows of no accidents or injuries related to the problem, but production records show that seven airbags from the same batch may have made it into customer driveways before technicians caught it.

Dealers will replace the airbag module to fix the problem.
