BMW Recalls X3 Over Lock Problem

BMW has recalled 40,736 X3 SUVs from model years 2022 through 2024 because the vehicles’ rear door locks may not function properly.

BMW tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that simply pulling the latch on a locked rear door may open it, rendering the lock function useless. The company is not aware of any safety incidents due to the problem, which technicians found at the factory.

Dealers will fix the issue by replacing the rear door lock modules.
