BMW Recalls Some X3 SUVs for Steering Problem

The 2025 BMW X3 seen from a front quarter angle

BMW has announced one of the smallest recalls we’ve seen in a while. It affects just two X3 SUVs from model year 2025 because of a potentially serious steering problem.

The company tells the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) that the swivel bearing for the left front wheel of each car may be faulty. Over time, it can develop cracks. If it fails, the driver could lose control of the car.

BMW is not aware of the problem happening in a customer’s car. The supplier who built the parts discovered it and notified the company before many faulty parts were used.

Dealers will replace the left front swivel bearing to fix the problem. Recall repairs are always free.

Automakers recall many cars to fix safety defects, sometimes more than once. While automakers try to reach every owner to ask them to bring the vehicle in for repair, they rarely reach them all. Millions of vehicles on American roads need free recall repairs. To find out if your car is one of them, check the easy VIN tool at our recall center.
