Acura has issued a recall for just nine copies of its new ZDX electric vehicle (EV) from model year 2024. A loosely attached stabilizer bar can detach from the frame. Swinging free, it might damage critical power cables or coolant lines, which could leave the car motionless.
General Motors builds the ZDX for Acura. The car shares most of its parts with the Cadillac Lyriq. This recall is identical to one Cadillac issued earlier this week, covering several Lyriqs.
Acura says that a tool used to tighten brackets that attach the bar to the car’s frame was miscalibrated, and may have left some bolts loose. If they loosen too much, they could let the bar move enough to contact other parts.
Owners might hear a rattling or clunking noise as the problem develops.
Dealers will fix the problem by tightening the bolts.
