When a mainstream automaker builds a full-size SUV, it tends to add a lot of luxury to the project. Big sport utilities like the Toyota Sequoia are a little pricey even in their base versions, so it’s not unusual for automakers to pack them with a feature list worthy of a luxury car.
For 2025, Toyota will add more creature comforts to the already well-equipped Sequoia. The brand will build a Sequoia 1794 Edition.
Toyota applies the name 1794 to its most well-equipped Tundra pickup. Named for the founding year of a ranch where Toyota’s Texas truck factory now stands, 1794 editions celebrate the comfort of real leather.
The Sequoia 1794 “incorporates real American walnut wood grain interior trim, unique leather-trimmed heated and ventilated massaging front seats, and sleek 1794 badging.” The upholstery looks stunning in a baseball-glove-deep shade of brown. It rides on 20-inch wheels and gets second-row captain’s chairs, a panoramic roof, and a towing package as standard equipment.
Other changes for 2025 include available massaging seats on the Premium and Capstone grades. Every year, Toyota creates a new color exclusive to the off-road special TRD Pro edition. This year, they call it “Mudbath.” Toyota hasn’t provided photos.
Toyota will make no mechanical changes. Every Sequoia uses a twin-turbocharged 3.4-liter gasoline V6 mated to an electric motor for hybrid power, good for 437 horsepower and 583 lb-ft of torque.
