2025 Honda Prologue Gets Range, Power Boost

Honda’s all-electric Prologue will see slight boosts to its power and range for the 2025 model year.

The Prologue is a bit of an automotive oddity, but a successful one. Honda designed the car in partnership with General Motors. GM builds it for Honda, using most of the same parts as the Chevrolet Blazer electric vehicle (EV) and Equinox EV.

Honda designers penned the Prologue, and Honda engineers tune its suspension, steering, and other mechanical characteristics to suit Honda buyers’ tastes. But it’s mechanically a virtual twin to several GM EVs and, oddly, the best-selling EV that GM builds.

Honda plans to introduce its own EVs, built without GM, in 2026. You have to see those to believe them.

What has changed for 2025 is the Prologue’s motors. Like many EVs, the Prologue is available with one electric motor or two. Single-motor versions mount that motor to the front axle for front-wheel drive (FWD). Dual-motor versions use one on each axle for all-wheel drive (AWD).

The rear unit stays unchanged for 2025, but the front motor now makes 220 horsepower, eight more than the 2024 model made. All-wheel-drive versions get a slightly more significant boost — 300 hp instead of 288.

More efficient motors mean a range increase, as well, Honda says. “For 2025, Prologue’s top-class EPA range rating increases by 12 miles on a single charge to 308 miles,” while AWD versions “increase to 294 miles for the EX and Touring (+13), and 283 miles for the Elite (+10).” The Prologue is on sale now, and Honda notes that all 2025 Prologue models qualify for the $7,500 EV federal tax credit.
