The Hyundai Kona keeps a low profile, but it’s quietly one of the most all-around appealing cars on the market. It’s a subcompact SUV available as a gas-powered or electric car, with an excellent price-to-features ratio, a long warranty, and a very quiet fan club.
There’s even a high-performance Kona N – possibly the most unassuming car you can buy with track-day features like adjustable dampers and active exhaust. It’s almost silly how unassuming it is.
For 2024, it’s getting significant upgrades. The 2024 Kona is larger, better-looking (with a signature horizontal lighting element across the nose that makes you look at it), and roomier.
Hyundai will even add a third powertrain. The 2024 Kona will be available with a choice of two gas-powered engines, two electric powertrains, or a hybrid setup coming later in the year.
Perhaps not unexpectedly, the glow-up has costs. Hyundai has released pricing for the gas-powered models. While the 2023 Kona on lots today starts at just $22,140, next year’s model will begin at $24,100. The all-new 2024 Kona is slated to arrive at dealerships this summer, with the Kona Electric joining the lineup in late fall.
