2024 Dodge Durango Gets Minor Updates, Hellcat Version

The 2024 Dodge Durango Hellcat seen from a front quarter angleThe Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat wasn’t supposed to get a sequel. But here it is, back for a third run at the box office.

For 2024, Dodge’s 3-row SUV returns with a few minor updates. But the big news is the continuation of what was, supposedly, a limited edition meant to end two years ago.

Dodge introduced the Durango SRT Hellcat for the 2021 model year. At the time, the automaker said it would sell the Hellcat for just one year. With a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 making 710 horsepower and 645 lb-ft of torque, it brought muscle car attitude to the family-hauler segment. The Hellcat posted a National Hot Rod Association-certified quarter-mile elapsed time of 11.5 seconds.

For comparison purposes, the Honda Pilot and Hyundai Palisade posted a National Hot Rod Association-certified quarter-mile elapsed time of “Why would we test that?” But those companies are not Dodge.

Dodge brought the Durango Hellcat back for the 2023 model year, triggering applause from enthusiasts and a lawsuit from a group of owners who thought they had a limited edition. For 2024, the Hellcat and its 180-mph top speed continue.

Dodge hasn’t revealed pricing for the 2024 Durango. We expect only minor increases from 2023’s prices, which start at $40,140 and top out at over $104,000.

Other changes are small. They include a faster version of the Uconnect infotainment system and standard blind-spot monitoring at all trim levels. The Tow N Go towing package can now be purchased on the fancy Citadel edition. It also now has “an increased top speed of 145 mph,” for reasons you have to work at Dodge to imagine.
